Workie Ticket Workshops

Workie Ticket has a commitment to work within the North East community. We believe the best way to do this is to make our theatre accessible, affordable and relevant. We also provide a wellbeing programme that supports the groups we work with. We are passionate about delivering these workshops that are very closely connected to the themes of our plays. Workie Ticket believe in theatre for social change and making a difference in the communities we work in.

  • Body Image and Body Positivity

  • Healthy Relationships

  • Exploring Self-Care and Wellbeing

  • Anxiety and Me

  • Social Rights

We want to create powerful theatre in different spaces and collaborate with marginalised groups who want to hear their own stories told but we want to support them when they do.

We have developed a programme to work with a specific groups, using Forum Theatre techniques within our own methodology to enhance their story-telling and give them the aftercare they need to collaborate in a safe environment.

In 2019, we began delivering across the North East to various communities working in South Shields with Tyne and Wear Museums and Archives as part of their Festival of Women programme and working with Just Fair UK delivering a workshop around human rights.

We have delivered a number of successful sessions in Newcastle, South Tyneside and North Tyneside; working alongside mental health, human rights and Women's  charities such as Newcastle Women’s Aid, WHIST and the Bright Futures Young Women’s Project.  Our Workie Ticket Wellbeing Workshops include:
